1. What qualifications are required to charter a bareboat  ?
According to Greek law the skipper and the co skipper required to have sailing certificates proving their competence in sailing. If not issued by an EU member state, certification should carry a translation in Greek or English. An official declaration stating the skipper’s competence may be also required if the port authority considers this necessary. (see also Booking).

2. Which days of the week can I begin and end my charter?
Sailing yacht charters begin and end on Saturdays for multiples of seven days. In the low and medium season and depending on yacht availability, this may be flexible. In any case will try to fullfill your requirements for different days of the week and uneven periods of time, such as a ten or twelve-day charter.

3. What are the charters’ schedules?
All charters begin at 15:00 on the day of departure (normally Saturdays) and end at 18:00 on the day of arrival (normally Fridays) with an overnight till Saturday morning at 8:00.We require Saturday mornings to ensure that yachts are always delivered to the next charterer in the same  excellent condition. If we can deliver your charter yacht earlier on the day of embarkation, without compromising our standards, we will, but this cannot be guaranteed.

4.What if I wish to embark and disembark from different bases?
This may be possible, but you will be charged an additional cost. The cost varies according to the distance between the two bases. Please check with us.

5.What does the charter fee include?
Yacht prices are per yacht, per week, depending on the time of year and regardless of the number of people onboard (subject of course to the maximum number of berths).

Charter fees include:
• VAT.
• All clean linen including bath towels.
• 24 hour emergency service.
• Yacht cleaning before and at the end of your charter, equipement (bimini, outboard, tender,GPS, CD-player and autopilot)
marine insurance.

6. What is not included in the charter fee?
• Security Deposit  
• Food and drink
• Yacht and outboard engine fuel.
• Water
• Port - Marina fees - This is a daily-base fee, which applies to almost all ports in Greece with varied costs.
• Provisioning
• Transfers
• Skipper
• Hostess
• Travel insurance

7. What the refundable security deposit covers?
The Refundable Security Deposit is held against the yachts insurance excess. If there is no damage or loss to the yacht or to its equipment,  the Security Deposit will be refunded immediately at the end of the charter. However, if there is any damage and/or loss, the deposit or an appropriate proportion will be returned, if applicable, as soon as possible after full assessment of the cost of rectifying such damage or loss has been made.
The Refundable Security Deposit covers:
• Loss of or damage to the vessel, its tender and third parties.
• Loss of or damage to the equipment listed in the inventory and given to the charterer at check-in.
• Costs incurred if the vessel is returned in an unacceptably dirty condition.
• Cost of returning the boat to the pre-arranged harbour, if the charterer fails to do so by the scheduled date and time.
• Cost of refuelling if the boat is returned without refilled tanks.

The payment of either the Refundable Security Deposit, is designed to cover only one incident of a substantial nature at any one time. In case of loss or damage to equipment of significant value such as outboard engine or dinghy, the charterer will have the right to an immediate replacement whilst on charter, provided that the charterer pays a new Refundable Security Deposit immediately upon receipt of the relevant replacement or in respect of the repair.In any case the charterer will be held liable for the total amount of any loss or damage caused by gross negligence or wanton or wilful misuse by the charterer or by any of his party which is in excess of the Security Deposit amount.
Gross negligence may include, but is not limited to:
• Sailing at night without all navigation lights functioning or without sufficient watch on deck.
• Damage resulting from non-observance of instructions given during the technical briefing.
• Damage resulting from failure to take protective measures (in accordance with good seamanship) against adverse weather conditions.
• Failure to have a competent person on the helm or supervising the helmsman while the boat is under way.
• Failure to take reasonable seaman-like precautions to avoid danger for both yacht and crew.

8. Are the yachts insured?
All our yachts are covered for Third Party Liability with sum insured equal or higher than the obligatory from Greek Legislation (Bodily Injury, Material Damage, Sea Pollution) and also for several other coverage under the Institute Yacht Clauses CL 328 (1.11.85) as Waterskier’s Liability, Institute Yacht Clause’s Machinery Damage , War and Strikes, Permission to Skipper/Bare-boat Charter, Electronic Date Recognition, Innocent Assured Clause, Misappropriation, Medical Expenses, Personal Effects.
The above mentioned yacht insurance is valid in excess of the  refundable security Deposit.

9. Should I have a travel insurance?
In your own interest, you are advised to buy suitable travel insurance before leaving home, including cancellation insurance to protect your booking deposit.

10. Do the yachts meet any safety standards?
All yachts’ safety equipment meets or exceeds the safety standards set by the Greek Ministry of Mercantile Marine.

11. What does the standard equipment on all sailing yachts include?
All the yachts chartered from us are equipped to offer safe and relaxing holidays.

 12. What should I bring with me?
Every vessel is fully equipped for charter. Apart from provisioning and stowing of your personal possessions, you could step aboard and leave the dock without a further thought. The equipment varies depending on the size and the type of the yacht but you need to take very little with you. You should bring your own beach towels, deck shoes, sun tan lotion, sun hat, and personal belongings!

13. What if we arrive at the embarkation base late?
For late arrivals at the embarkation base (after 19:00 hours) please contact our base manager to make the appropriate arrangements.

14. If I want to cancel my charter?
Our cancellation policy depends on the time-interval between the booking confirmation and the cancellation date.
Please therefore note our cancellation fees under the booking.

15. Can I bring my pet?
It is not permitted to bring pets on board . Animals are typically not accustomed to the strict confinement of a ship and an active cruising itinerary can be quite uncomfortable for pets. There are exceptions to the rule, so please ask.

16. Is smoking allowed on yachts?
For safety reasons smoking is not permitted in the staterooms or cabins. Smoking is  only allowed on deck.
